It is owned by Independent News & Media, a subsidiary of Mediahuis.

Over the years it has gained a reputation for its hard-hitting crime reporting, special investigations, Irish showbiz and sport analysis and is home to award-winning journalists likeNicola Tallant, Patrick O’Connell, Eddie Rowley and Roy Curtis.
